It's raining with moments

Updated: May 21

Raining on me with moments,

a long roar splits the grass of memories,

from seashells of foam

rise a groan of phosphorescent Phoenix,

looking for the cascade of stars

to nestle their hopes

until the ivory moment,

when the white temples

should dissolve in the rain

and from the flesh

will grow chrysanthemum

Visual Fixing Of Abstraction

*******************************

I came in contact with Corina Junghiatu, Romania, through social media, as wading through her elegant poems was a quiet novel experience. Especially she uses metaphors in a quiet magical way. In one of her poems one metaphor " Hot Embryo" made a captivating picture in my mind, it seemed like the whole universe in its core state was on the verge of melting.

Most of her poems are in free verse with multiple lines.

Free verses are poems with no specific rules and patterns and their topic is very wide and variable. Free verse usually changes rhythm frequently and may alternate between short and long lines, its efficiency much depends upon the use of literary device line breaks.

They have ruled the poetry world for ten decades, Ezra Pound, TS Eliot were pioneers of it .

Often free verse echoes the cadence of natural speech and it makes artistic use of sound, imagery and a wide range of literary devices like anaphora, syntax parallelism, enjambment, etc.

I always think free verses are like free freshet in search of Beethoven, which after mingling in imagery at once makes a captivating cocktail of music and painting in a lap of words.

This poem is written in free verse in an imagist tradition, highly experimental one.

Imagery in poetry is a term given to the elements that arouses the five senses in a poem with the use of literary tools such as simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, personification.

Writers successfully bring to our consciousness the beautiful pictures of things that exists. This senses are auditory, olfactory, tactile, gustatory and visual

Poem has eleven lines with meticulous use of line break. It brings memories which are heaped up in the subconscious mind in an erupting emergence. Raining is like a catalyst which unlocks the emotions which after surfacing are in search of a new niche.Their hopes are still alive and subduing for a long period has not succeeded in sapping out their vitality.

"Ivory moment" is a mixture of solid and abstract metaphor which is a transformational tool.

Hidden desires are looking towards stars ,in hope of new rejuvenation.

Universe is in continuous movement and life is like a vicious cycle. Nothing ends but only undergoes the process of amalgamation.

Like phoenix they come again and again which in our chimera we think like ash, burnt past!

Past never destroys but like leftovers it remains stuck to our subconscious mind.

Chrysanthemum is a new form which would come after this transforming process.

"Long roar" is an example of onomatopoeia.

White temples , raining, ivory moments, Phoenix etc all are beautiful metaphors. Visual fixing is used in profuse amounts in this poem which has made it economical one.

Corina has used it quiet meticulously!
